What's in My Hospital Bag

Babygirl is coming so soon, which is just a crazy overwhelming feeling. I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant, and will be 36 weeks in a couple days. Torrin was a late arrival (about a week late), and I have a feeling this baby will be either right on time or a little late as well. BUT we all know that babies come when they want, and that anything could happen - so I would rather be prepared ahead of time than to not be! So yesterday I started (and almost finished) packing my hospital bag.

I actually didn’t have anything to use as a hospital bag so I ordered this duffle. It’s not exactly cheap, but I’ll be using it for luggage after so it was worth it for me to get something a bit nicer.

I tried my best not to overpack and to keep things as simple as possible (not my strong suit), but I know the hospital will provide a lot and I didn’t want to pack what most of what will be provided. Hospitals generally provide postpartum supplies for mom such as mesh panties, tucks, peri bottle (I have the Frida mom peri bottle coming in the mail though because I hear it’s much better), and pads. For baby they’ll provide diapers, wipes, and swaddle blankets.

So let’s dive in to what I packed!

For mom (me!)

  • Nursing friendly outfit; I grabbed this button down top & short pajama set (a lot of mamas recommend a robe but I don’t wear robes)

  • Nursing bra (I’m testing this one out and will share more about it with you soon!)

  • Socks & slippers or sandals

  • Extra long phone charger

  • Toiletries; facial care, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, a mini version of my fav lip mask for chapstick, hair ties, nipple cream, hair brush

  • Going home outfit; will either be leggings & a button down shirt or sweatpants & sweatshirt set

  • Towel from home (hospital towels are tiny and not great)

  • Pillow from home

  • SNACKSSSS AND SNACKS AND MORE SNACKS

For Baby

  • Three onesies (going home outfit with bow & extra hat with little baby vans - one neutral colored in case there are any surprises - and a slightly bigger onesie in case she’s too big for the smaller newborn one - and a sweater). The rose onesie & bow are from Mebie Baby, the star one is from Kate Quinn, and the squirrel one is Burt’s Bees Baby.

  • Variety of pacifiers (we won’t know what she’ll like until she’s here!) and pacifier clip.

  • Blanket & swaddle for going home

  • Sound machine soother

For Support Partner

  • Change of clothes

  • Toiletries

  • Phone charger

  • Pillow from home

  • More snacks

And there we have it!

This is what is going in my hospital bag. Any must-have's I may have missed?
