Let's Talk. Period.

Fun fact: I’m currently in the follicular phase of my cycle.

My hormones are at an all time low.⁣

But this creates a space of openness, creativity, & a great time for setting intentions & planning.⁣

My body is craving cardio & fresh light foods.⁣

Not too long ago I went over 6 months without getting my period (spoiler alert: I wasn’t pregnant). And this sent me down a long road of searching for answers. I knew something was going on with my hormones that wasn’t right, but I had no idea what it was.⁣

So I researched - podcasts, books, blogs, anything - trying to understand what could be causing me to be going without my period for so long.⁣

And of course as soon as I started to look for answers, & like a week after I started seed cycling (I posted about this like a year ago but I don’t do it anymore but I think I will - see future post for more info!), my missing period returned.⁣

I was so hyper focused on fixing myself that I kind of became obsessed with figuring out what was wrong (I even created an IG {@choosingmewell} just for hormone info!!) and I became so fatigued that I took a huge step back from learning & discovering my hormones.⁣

But I am back to this journey of understanding & I want to bring you with me.⁣

Being a woman comes with so much unnecessary shame - our menstrual cycles being one of them. And it is time that changes.⁣

I’ve been tracking my period with the FloLiving app for about a year now and I really like it, it gives tips and tricks to make the most out of where you are at in your cycle and helps you plan ahead. (Not sponsored!)

Do you track your cycle?⁣
Are you curious about this stuff too?⁣
Tapping into our female energy is so freaking powerful & I’m excited to dive into it again!⁣
